Drillhole 8,9,10 and 11 provide foraminifera in sufficient abundance and diversity to be useful in correlation, dating and paleoecological analysis. Drillhole 12 contains a few poorly preserved and probably reworked foraminifera. Three broad microfaunal divisions are suggested on the basis of reconnaissance studies undertaken so far.
